First, thanks out to all our friends on CompD and other hotrod boards for your support and help.
:Cheer:
Pat and Johnny tech'd the truck on Friday, then started to prep. I picked up the kids from school, and got there right at sunset. Friday night dipped into the 20's, and Casper with it's 15:1 engine, no anti-freeze (banned) and no glowplugs refused to start in the morning even though he brought it up to 210 deg at 10:30 PM. After many fruitless efforts, we gave Casper a "blow job" by putting Wendy's exhaust aimed at the front of the truck and rev'g it up. That did the trick. Jason showed up and helped us bright and early that morning, and we couldn't have done it without him. It takes 4 adults to run the truck, driver, chase, and two crew to do the safety equipment.
We got our first run in at about 11:00. It was cold and windy. I was driving the tow/chase motorhome. The truck ran well up to 153mph, then the engine shut down and coasted to a 141mph. Pat, Johnny, and Jason changed some things, and we got back in line. The Hudson Powerstroke A/DT pickup ran 131 mph but it was not enough to crack the 135mph minimum. We were still in line when the track closed at 3. There was a Dakota Cummins UDT diesel that ran 129. There were a few spins because dirt was pretty chewed up.
So our first challenge was to make sure the truck started the next morning. We put Tom's Spiderman blanket on the hood, and I warmed the truck up at midnight (COLD!!), and Pat got up at 3am and 5am to warm it up again. Jason had to go home, and Robert came at 6am to help us. Without Jason, Robert, and Spiderman, we would have a had a very tough time.
Sunday morning was colder, and there was strong headwind that delayed the start, but they started to run anyways anytime the track was visible. On Sundays first run, it hit the 153 barrier again, this time coasting to a 145mph. So Pat tried a few more things, and we got back in line. This would be our third and last run because the track was closing at 2. Pat took off and the truck started to cough as it tried to gain speed, then it disappeared into the dust. We started to chase after him, and heard on the announcer say 157.175mph, so we were all happy. Except Pat. I guess he was hoping for more, but as long as he came back safe and ran fast, the rest of us think that's a good run.

Not all the video came out OK, and we are still looking at it, and trying to find good ones.
Picture 1 is Robert, Pat, Tom, Allison, and Johnny.
Picture 2 is the UDT Cummins. Still looking for a pic of the Powerstroke.
