Its the clamp load the pressure plate puts on the clutch disk(s) to hold it to the flywheel (or hold the disks and floater plate against the FW). The higher the plate load the more hp it will hold before slipping, and the stiffer the pedal will be.
Pretty sure all Haisley clutches use the same plate load as a stock clutch. After all night of pushing snow with a 3850 southbend my buddy is ready to sell his.
