Comp3 48re 2-3 Shift Problems

I plan on calling Firepunk on Monday if I can't resolve it over the weekend. Truck has been sitting for the last two months and I got it running again on Thursday. I didn't mess with the trans- just fuel and air.

The problem started with no up shifting at 75-% or more throttle. The truck would bog down until I let off and then it would shift. Today, the 2-3 shift wouldn't happen until 2900-3000rpm. I tried adjusting the throttle valve at the transmission and it didn't change anything for the 2-3 shift. All other shifts were happening as they should with the Anteater tune tables. Now, it won't shift or of second at all.

Thoughts?

Did you increase or decrease the TV lever? If it's set to high it won't shift

I tried increasing it - towards the rear of the transmission by a few threads, and then decreased it almost all the way back on the bolt threads.

My comp 3 did the same with a mvb. Lavon helped me tremendously. Even sent me a turnbuckle setup and new tv lever so I can adjust it from the outside. Call them Monday and they should be able to walk you through it. I started at about 50% on tv lever. Put a gauge on it and adjust it to the recommended pressure in 3rd gear and lock up. It's been awhile but I think it was supposed to be around 220psi. Mine ended up being about 3/4s of the way back towards the rear. Every trans will be a little different on what position the lever needs to be in.

This is very helpful! I have the same external lever setup I think you are talking about but I didn't know what to objectively measure with each change. With the bolt all the way back on the threads the lever is slightly forward of perpendicular to the transmission. I will mess with it some today and tighten the bolt to pull the lever to the rear, and if I can't get it right I'll call the shop on Monday.

Lower pressure slightly

I moved the lever farther to the rear- almost all of the way, and it shifted into third, and continues to do so under normal driving, but it still won't shift correctly out of any gear at 75%+ throttle. Also, OD is a little rough to disengage if I just let the speed drop with no throttle input.

This is what I use to adjust mine. I think yours may still be a little to far back "lever pulled to the rear" and to high of pressure imo. If this is what you are using loosen the nut on back side of the rear bracket a round or two. The firepunk guys will be able to walk you through it better than me. I'm just giving info based on what I have experienced with mine. Hope you get it all worked out.

Yep! That's the same lever setup I have on mine. I started adjusting one turn at a time (loosening/moving the lever forward) to decrease pressure and I was able to achieve successful shifting on a tune one punch, but it bogged down when I switched to tune three. I backed off one turn after I parked it for the night. I'll continue to adjust it tomorrow after the ride to work, and I'll also give Firepunk a call.

Does anyone know how much line pressure changes on the Firepunk VB when you adjust the spring plate screw? I've read 3-4psi for the stock VB, but I want to confirm so I don't go to high. When I checked line pressure, I was only at 180psi third gear lockup at 2500rpm and the guys at the shop said 190 is the sweet spot at that test point. This was with the TV as far towards the front as I could put it. Tightening the adjustment bolt and putting the lever farther to the rear decreased line pressure. I tightened it up to go be some more adjustability using the TV lever and I am sitting at 155psi using the above test point.
