1998 12 valve fully rebuilt engine top to bottom.
For AIR I have
362/68/.7 t3 gated sxe over 475/92/1.10. Crazy carl piping
Stainless diesel t3 manifold. PORTED head.
Colt stage 4 cam
Mishimoto intercooler

For FUEL I had farrell max my 180 pump to 460cc with 035 DV. 20* timing
No fuel plate
DDP stage 4, 5x14
Power driven diesel modified piston lift pump. 1/2” lines from a sump on the tank all the way to IP

At WOT with TC Locked I can only make 40psi boost. With 15 coming from primary. Drive pressure hardly ever goes past boost. I have the gate on secondary opening at 24psi. Fuel pressure idles at 30 and at WOT it’s around 45. EGTS never go over 1100. It doesn’t smoke at all. On the top end it runs out of fuel super fast. I’m wondering if I need bigger injectors??

Could my max fueling be limited by something somehow? I tried taking off the fuel shut down solenoid and didn’t make a difference. I have AFC LIVE but it doesn’t work. I’ve been on the phone with them, I watched the YouTube Q&A video on it and tried everything. Don’t know why it won’t work. Gonna send it back for a new unit I think.

Run boost reference line in factory position, assuming u still have it hooked to the afc live, to bypass it and see if ur getting more fuel

Where are you located

Remove the AFC foot and go for a drive. That will tell you if you lack fuel, or if your AFC is working. If you say your AFC Live isn't working, that likely is what is killing it.

Set your gate to start opening at around 8 to 10 psi. Remove your AFC and hook a regulated air supply to it. See what it's doing, it needs no extra help other than the right spring to control movement. Get it so it starts moving around 5 psi and put it back on. Play with spring tension from there.

Thanks guys I’ll try some of that. So these injectors aren’t small for my setup?

Plenty enough to run good with that air. What gov springs are you running?

Pull your afc off and see how many psi of air it takes for the foot to go all the way forward, bottomed out.

i was wrong about the 40psi. saw 50 and maybe a 55psi pull today. with 20 out of the primary. i was just being a *****. still only 1100 egts and no smoke. Drove for a day with the AFC foot removed and stock boost reference line in. Then put the foot back in and drove for another day. didnt see a difference.

while i had the afc out i hooked it up to air and it starts moving pretty early like 3 or 4psi. and go all the way at 28-30ish.

Are you certain your injectors are 5x014"? Are you certain the fuel plate has been removed. Seth normally sends his pumps with a fuel plate set somewhere around 75%. Pull the AFC off the truck and make certain there isn't two large flat head screws under the AFC. If those are there, the fuel plate is still installed and it needs to be removed in order to get full fuel!

I hope the injectors are that size. I paid for DDP stage 4s and put them in. Kind of wish I had a set of budget builder 5x016 to try out. Fuel plate is definitely removed. I just don’t know if my fuel is being limited or not. With the foot and plate removed is that going to give me full fuel guaranteed? Should I be making more boost than 50psi?

Ddp4's run strong, I ran them back in the day and a buddy of mine runs them in his truck, He's running a s467 and will push that charger to over 60psi. Do one thing at a time, pull the plate out first and see how it acts, then if not much of a change pull the afc foot out and see what that does as a temporary test. When it's at 50psi is it Smokey at all?

I’ve done both of those things. No plate. And drove it with the foot in and without the foot in. There was NO difference. Top end has zero smoke. Even from a stop if I stomp on it it will have a big puff of smoke then clear up right away and through whole rpm range.

Next thing I'd check is that the fuel shutoff solenoid is verified pulling all the way up. Remember there is a keyway on the shaft where it attaches to the pump. Do you know how much lift pump pressure it's seeing?

I took the fuel shut off solenoid arm right off the pump. Didnt make a difference

It almost sounds like a truck still running stock type gov springs, could add a couple clicks tighter to them and see what it does.
