Datalogger

Sorry I missed this thread until now! One advantage of the ISSPRO datalogging system is that it is based on a gauge system (as well as being designed around diesels originally). Most of us will want gauges in our trucks as well, so it helps make the whole gauge/datalogger combination more affordable.

The system is based on the ISSPRO Performax gauge system, which uses a main controller (ESP) that can be mounted under the hood (which simplifies wiring of the sensors), with 3 common wires that run to the gauges in the cab. The datalogger just taps into the databus sending the information to the gauges (plugging into the same connector as one of the gauges). You can install more sensors than you have gauges and datalog the information. The ESP can take inputs from 8 voltage based sensors (usually pressure), 6 resistance based sensors (usually temperature), and two thermocouples (EGT). We are currently working on an add-on module to provide a frequency (RPM) input in place of one of the voltage inputs.

There are two options for the datalogger. The existing PC-based unit requires a PC in the truck while datalogging, and the new standalone unit records directly onto a USB drive. Standalone models will be available in about 2 weeks. Both units record 5 samples/second, in an Excel-compatible CSV format.
