Michael, my daughter turns one in a week. I am interested in doing this with her. Any good resources that can help me prepare, build vs buy, clubs, etc that I can be doing in the next 6 years?

Generally good info there, although like all forums some occasional arguments!
If you are good at fabrication I would consider building one. I got some plans from a guy who built them previously, but I am probably going to buy a semi-complete chassis and finish it out myself (ran across a deal too good to pass up). One of the best pieces of advice I got was to buy the best clutch I could afford. The consistency is mostly in the clutch, and if the car is running inconsistently then your kid will get frustrated quickly.
When your kid is a couple of years away, start going to the local bracket races (maybe race your truck too so you have a reference point when talking to your daughter), and hang out in the Jr pits and ask questions.
