just bought a 1468 but has a dt436 rather than a dv 550, any ways i have to use the either start for it to crank so im pretty sure it'll be gett'n rings and bearing before long, and was looking at parts on ebay and showed a rod that is for a dt 414 436 and 466 so im guessing the bore is the only thing different between them so my question is are all the blocks the same and just different size pistons and linners? can i get a 466 kit for my 436? or does anyone know where i could find a dv 550 then this tractor could be worth money??

Shouldn't hurt anything using ether so long as you have smoke rolling before you hit the ether... Some of the older trucks use the same engine, though I think it's a DV530 in most of them. I knew where there was one that you could have had the entire truck for $1500 and it was MINT for a 69 Loadstar. I think it's gone now though :bang

4.3" bore on a 414 436 466, Just different stroke.

The 530 is a version of the 466. different bore or stroke. The 530 is not a v-8 engine though. As far as I know the 420, 444, and the 550 or the only v-8's offered in the light trucks the 550 being the one they put in the 1468.

Dt 530 (4.59" bore 5.35 stroke) is different bore and stroke from the older 400 series, But the same bore as the new 466 (4.59x4.68)
