Took the tractor to its first hook this year and it didn't run like it usually does. Figured it could use more timing since it was at 30* in the video.

As a superfarm, it never used to shoot flames out of the stack except for right before the water came on and maybe right at the end of the track.

We messed with it yesterday and noticed that if we crank the timing up to 45* it starts VERY hard, rattles hard and barely runs until it warms up. It used to run just fine with 45* timing and a pro stock charger.

Also noticed that it occasionally 'pops' at idle, not very loudly and not very often.

Fuel pressure seems to be good. Figured that the popping was an injector so we took out the injectors and popped them. They all popped when they should, but only a few chattered/squealed when they popped. The ones that squealed seemed to put out a finer mist of fuel. Local pump shop says that big injectors don't necessarily chatter because they dump so much fuel at once.

What do you think?
