Chris, have you had a chance to try the S480 yet? Just curious to see how it compares to the FI76.
PS: Your PM box is full.

Not yet. I'll clear it now. ThanksChris, have you had a chance to try the S480 yet? Just curious to see how it compares to the FI76.

What isnthe blade setup on that FI wheel?
Specifically, over speed conditions create a harmonic resonance that results in oil separation on the bearing surfaces, mainly the thrust bearing/collar. This is why there is an industry standard regarding maximum wheel speed.
The S400 SX-E line was not designed for high pressure ratio applications, which is in all reality the best way to describe a diesel engine.
I just picked up a FI 476/87/1.0 paired with 150%'s and dual pumps, on a 1800uS tune it hits pretty hard starting at 2100-2200 rpm.
Even with my truck currently being a 5.9 6 speed, if I shift at 4300-4500, I experience about a second to be back on full boost.
Looking to load a 2200uS tune soon to see if it'll come up a tad quicker.

Ryan the FI unit wasn't on long enough for a fair reliability comparison.
JasonC Thanks! I hope to have updated track times with the 80 / 350s in the next 3 weeks.

6850lbs with me in itWhat does your truck weigh?
I am between the same FI76 and a 476SXE. I talked to the guys at FI and they recommended the 87 wheel, what made you choose the 96 over the 87?
My 03 is fairly similar to yours, trying to step the injectors and turbo up in the next couple weeks.
It's weird they don't talk about the 92mm turbine any more.
I just picked up a FI 476 with the 92mm turbine and Called FI to see about a different Ar options and they said it was the same price as the 87mm housings.
