floor shifter

Has anyone put a after market floor shifter in for there 48re? If so what type ?

Its been done plenty of times. My truck used to have a cheetah scs that im putting back on in the spring. You could also wire up o/d and put it on a switch so it shifts when you want, but once you put it in "3" on the cheetah, its drive. So o/d works like normal if its not wired to a switch.

So what one would I buy they don't list one for a 48re?

727. A 48 is basically a 727 with an OD added on the end.

I'm sure you guys had a little bit of work to do on the bracket
For the linkage correct?

Not hard to make a bracket at all. A little time and some metal working skill helps.

I'm a Welder for a living, I was just asking if your brackets fit any better than mine for a 47re. All it took was 5 minutes with a cut off wheel and the bracket they give you.
