I run it, if I remember right I think it's required if you're going over 3500 RPM. My truck can turn up to 4200 but I never rev that high but I just like the assurance. I would definitely recommend it on a puller.
I had an issue with my fluid dampr coming loose. It would be loose within 1 or 2 hooks. Looked closer and the pins had came out. Put new pins in and no issues.
