Well as the title says, i've tried everything i could think of and i'm outta ideas. my truck ran pretty good for the three months i drove it after i did all the swapping over parts and what not. ok anyway here's the problem it wont start now and the only thing i change was the overflow valve on the return. ive read a lot about the return line getting air in it and having some drain back to the tank and all that, but my deal is now how could i be getting fuel to the injection pump and no start or even attempt to start. i re-bled the whole system. i crack all injector lines until i saw fuel, but here's the kicker i'm only getting fuel to the back three cylinders.

Now what i'm think is that the injection pump is junk and or i need to just break down and buy a fass or airdog, or my timing jump again which i had this problem before and fix it and ran fine. all this started happening after i change the overflow valve because it started loping real bad and i knew my overflow was junk. so if anyone has any ideas on what i should do, i would really like to hear them because i really need to get my truck back on the road again.

Thanks for any info and or ideas
Greg

question, would no fuel in the first three cylinders mean i have some stuck plungers?

Make sure your shutoff solenoid is pulling all the way up, and it's completely bled. You might also want to put a fuel pressure guage on it to see if you are getting any pressure at the pump.

yeah i'm gonna check with a guage today a buddy let me borrow one, the shut-off is pulling up all the way it's just been killing me not to drive it

It's not the injection pump! The only thing you changed from when it ran fine until now is the OFV! You put an OFV in it set for a higher pressure than what your lift pump pushes at engine cranking rpm, there is air trapped in the injection pump! *bdh*

Now, go fix your problems and send me $10 just for saving you $1500!

so then explain to how i only get fuel to the back the three lines and not the front three and ive bled the air out of the pump so many times it's just unreal.

and before i changed the ofv it was running like pure a** lopeing like a duramax at idle

did you check your fuel pressure, do you have a fresh filter, could be lift pump

fresh filter injection pump hass fuel from lift pump which was brand new about 2-3 months ago it may somehow still have air in it maybe.

The engine is mounted at an angle towards the rear...air goes up...the front three plungers are not surrounded in fuel! Pump the primer pump by hand until you hear the OFV squeal...then give it two dozen more squeals to be sure the air is gone.

yeah i counted the pumps yesterday and the were well into the 300's and it was rainin the whole time so i gave up i'll go out today give another try. it's just been kickin my arse.

Will it run on ether? Can u crack the ofv and see fuel coming out after u crank for a while?

it ran on ether yesterday when we tried, i have yet to any constant fuel from the ofv while cranking Dan. when i replaced that ofv i replaced it with an adjustable one from tork tech. i dont think that would have anything to do with it but i'm not sure. i might need to go and buy a fass or something and get the other style ofv and try that. i hate throwing money at it. but i keep trying pumping the lift pump. i know i'm getting fuel to the injection pump.

i'm sure the tork tech would squeal too correct or maybe i'm wrong.

Stick a gage on it, get it running on ether, see if u start to see some pressure. Then if u see pressure, crack the overflow valve, get it running on ether until u see fuel out of the overflow fitting. Or crack it and pump up the priming lever until u see fuel coming out the overflow.

ok i'll try i did the third idea twice with no results yet i need to run out and get that gauge.

After u have pumped it up on the primer, crack 2 or three lines, at the injector, and get it running on ehter again.
