I'm new here, just throwing this out there for those looking to do the same.

This is the bumper front bumper I built on my 01 Ram. It's all 1/4" plate, cut with a plasma cutter. Looking to add driving and maybe fogs too. I'm no pro welder, so don't give me sh!t about my welds or grinding. Also going to spray it with bed coating to match my rockers. Plan on putting shackles on it too. I mainly use the truck for hauling wood and pulling trees out of the woods.

wonder if a lightweight bumper could be made DIY without using aluminum?
Maybe a trellis steel tube setup with sheet nylon on the outside?

other thing I worry about is the strength of the frame horns in the front. Mine rotted and I welded in replacements, but theyre made to bend when they get hit. Doesnt look awfully strong.
At least theyre made to be replaced when they get bent.

Next time I have it off to add fogs, I'm bracing the frame horns since I'll be pulling logs with them and eventually hanging weights off of it.

dammit i have been on the forum since 2009 and still can handle posting a picture. haha
