My 3rd raptor pump went out and it's time to change pumps yet again. I am looking at fuel labs 41401 or 41402 pump. My question is do these pumps need to be ran through a regulator? Truck is mine p pumped 24v. Really don't want to run a regulator but I am tired of raptors. Thanks

Better yet what is my best choice for pumps that don't require a standalone regulator

I run an Aeromotive a1000 with 13101 bypass regulator. 100 micron filter before the a1000 and a 10 micron after. both filters are -10 in/out. I have 5/8 line up to the injection pump. At idle i have it set to 62-64 lbs and at wot it holds 80+lbs, the boost reference on the regulator is a nice option.

My whole setup cost around the same as just the fuelab pump.

I guess either way I will have to run a regulator if I want to get rid of the raptor style setup. I didn't want to run an. New line but guess I will have to for a return line to the tank

I run a fuellab with the filters. Got it at browns. Runs right at 18 psi, and the price wasnt much more than just the pump. Skip the install kit.

I got a p pump though and would like the pressure a little higher if possible jlibert. Which pump did you go with

this worked great for me, held 85psi @ about 5K rpm's

I'm pretty sure the only diff In the filter fuel lab is the spring on the reg. I bought the dodge one which ran abit to high for my cp3, so I trimmed down the spring

I bit the bullet. Got a fuel labs 41402 pump with a 525 regulator and 818 filter. Will have to replumb everything but hopefully I will be happy and not have to worry about the pump going out

Are you using the regulator after the ppump in place of the overflow valve or before the pump.

Probably going to use it before the pump but could use it after the pump as well. I have no clue which way would be better. Truck is becoming more of a driver instead of a weekend play truck. P pumped 24v with common rail head, 62 over 80, 12mm 500cc pump, baby injectors

I'm running a belt drive aeromotive pump going to a 13mm with the reg after the ppump, it idles at 50 with 60 wot. At idle pressure it is returning alot back to the fuel cell, I mean alot and has been this way for 3 years and works fine. I see no reason to reg before the pump.

I will try it after the pump. Now I just got to find some an fittings to replace the overflow valve and one that fits the inlet side

Also if I run it after the pump then I will need 2 return lines correct? Well I guess I will have 2 returns regardless. On from the overflow valve side and one from the regulator

Check with Kevin at northeast diesel, he sent me some banjo bolt and fittings with hose barbs. I drilled out the holes in the banjo bolt oversize to flow more and use two for the dual feed inlet and the same one fits in place of the overflow valve to the reg.

Just use one of those fittings then go to the regulator then splice in your injector return (I used the piece from an airdog kit) then back to the tank, only one line needed.

So just t in the overflow line into the return line from the reg then back to the tank correct? Also gets rid of the clave itself and just use a an dash 6 fitting instead I am guessing

So I need a dash 10 an fitting to go to the inlet side of the pump, dash 6 an fitting that replaced the overflow valve that feeds the reg, then t the regulator return line into the main return line then back to the tank.
