gmc 12v monte carlo

it was a 24 valve.. no idea who he is, but it was a regular guy, not a company who did it..
He gave me the idea for my car..
 
Ok well I was wanting to get some ideas on his trans and mounting for my project
 
What's your project? I bet i could help. Same drivetrain, slightly bigger car.
 
Pretty much just going with a 6.4 instead of a cummins, was wonderring what trans was used an mounts etc..
 
I used a 47re, so did the dmc, because that's what the engine came with..
Any 2wd transmission that isn't very tall should slip into place.
You may need to massage some sheet metal to get it in right.. I used an energy suspension gm mount, and built my own crossmember to hold it up.. Not very difficult at all..
 
I was thinking a 47re aswell. Yeah im gonna strip fab the interior to my needs so there's no problem there. Can you get some pics of your mount?
