got orders need help

I know the pay grades. I mean the names. Like your captain is difference from out captain. Stuff like that. And whats a BN? I have one of those that I talk with on the phone a lot, and I have no idea what that is lol.
 
It must be something for their job here. Like a name the AF gave them or something. On our rosters their rank is "BN." When I asked them what that was, they said the same thing lol.
