greasing the front driveshaft

i went and bought a needle grease zert to lube up the front drive shaft, and realized that it is a pain. Correct me if im wrong, but do you slide the neddle under the rubber seal around the bearing cap itself to insert the grease, because my didn't want to take hardly any grease.

There's a little divot on the cross of the u-joint that has a hole in it. The grease is supposed to be injected there. I have yet to be successful in getting grease to go "in" to the u-joint as opposed to spreading all over the place. It's truly a PITA to get to.

I jacked up one of the front tires so I could spin the shaft to get to the right spot. IIRC there's a pic on TDR of the spot you need to grease...
