Pulled my head and had it machined. They had to take 9 thou off to true it.Do I now need to use a thicker gasket or is stock cummins okay.I'm running around 50 lbs boost so I'll be putting studs.Anyone have cummins part #'s for 2nd gen 24v head gasket I would need.Multi layer I here is suppose to be good. Thanx Mark.......

A Cummins head set should come with 2 gaskets. One thick and one thin (by comparison to the thicker). Running the thicker one would probably be your best bet.

So do u think 10 thou over stock gasket would be good.......I talked to cummins and from what I understood only get one..........

You only get one headgasket with a top end kit. You can get a stocker, .010" or .020".

With planing the head, you won't change the CR. If you put a thicker gasket in, you will. I'd stick with a stock gasket myself.

Thanx for replies. You made up my mind gonna stick with the stock cummis gasket.
