Hi peeps,

So I have a BMW E87 1 Series with a Toyota 1uz V8 manual swap which I want to know Turbo Charge. I am also from South Africa and finding info on Holset Turbos is impossible. I plan on boosting between 11-18psi

I have been doing some research but the information is contradictory so please can you help.

The Turbo I am buying is a HX55 which one I cannot tell you fetching it this week. I am paying 90usd for it and its in good condition

I am getting it for cheap and plan on rebuilding it and also adding a billet compressor wheel to also save some weight on it.

I am really stuck on the exhaust housing side as there is contradicting info this what I know just wanna know if its legit

*HX50, HX52 and HX55 exhaust housings are interchangeable
*HX40 housings can be modified to fit HX50's so surely I could get this to work on a HX55 ?
*aparently the hx50 or hx52 came with a rare housing of 14cm
*I have checked the A/R ratios and this is what I have found
6 cm2 = 0.41 A/R
7 cm2 = 0.49 A/R
8 cm2 = 0.57 A/R
9 cm2 = 0.65 A/R
10 cm2 = 0.73 A/R
11 cm2 = 0.81 A/R
12 cm2 = 0.89 A/R
14 cm2 = 1.05 A/R
16 cm2 = 1.21 A/R
18 cm2 = 1.37 A/R
21 cm2 = 1.61 A/R

I am looking for 1.05 A/R ratio housing for the HX55, but I have seen that a few people have measured these and the sizes from above is different. So now I dont know which one to choose.

I have also looked at this thread and it has given me even more A/R Ratios

*If I ask locally here the shops refuse to help me without any part numbers on the exhaust housings, could anyone help me here please

Thank you for any assistance you can help me with

I have attached a pic of my car haha
