high idle

just had a quick question when i make a good steady run like cruising at 70mph for about 100 miles no stop is it normal for the idle to stay high when i stop it stays at like 1200rpms untill i turn it off then it is fine when i start it back up

Mine always goes back to about 800 regardless of time. I did 750 miles in one day at 75-80 the whole day and it never did that.

Reset the APPS, see if that helps any. Beyond that?? No clue :bang

Mine does the same thing, but maybe only about 900 to 1000rpm. Usually its a little lopey too. A couple quick stabs with the throttle and it settles right down.

My 2000 dodge used to do that way back when and my dad's '02 did it on this last trip from NY to CA. I told him mine did it, his won't calm down after a few stabs of the accelerator though, so I will probably check the voltage at the apps.
