high idle

just got a new smarty sr for my 03 and the high idle doesn't work. am i missing something like an update? its only a week old

I was under that impression, but I was later told that it didn't work on 03's... shame, because it's definitely a neat feature

yea it definately is. a big part why i upgraded to the sr.

looks like SOME 03's can do it... maybe 03's with 03 production dates? (as opposed to late 02 production date)

but it looks like the dealer has to do it, can't be done with a programmer

You will see this:

If the “ECM part number” is 15235113AG, 15235133AG, 15305153AG, or a later revision to these part numbers, proceed to (STEP #3). If not, flash the Cummins ECM in accordance with TSB 18-030-03 Rev. A before proceeding to (STEP #3).

Early 03's have these ECM part #'s. TSB 18-030-03 is superceded by TSB 18-033-04 which states:

This bulletin involves programming a generic Cummins ECM with software

So basically, if you have an 03, more than likely you will need to buy a generic ECM and have it programmed in order to get the high idle feature.
