hy35 a good choice?

I read the turbo try outs thread and just wanted to make sure opinions haven't changed over the last 6 years. I have an hy35 on a 4bt that I'm thinking of moving over to a 6bt ve. The VE will be stock other than a fuel pin, intake, etc. and I'm looking primarily for a turbo that gives me immediate boost off idle and up through the mid range. I'm not too worried about top end right now. Thanks,

That would work well, but one large step better (for a similar price) would be the HE351. Spools quite a bit quicker, takes a beating, and pairs well with a VE truck.

The 351 does have more power potential but if you already own the hy it will work fine especially if you don't intend to swap injectors.

Thanks for the feedback. I do already have the hy and had it rebuilt a few years ago so I'm thinking it will be a good swap. I will say it is a complete pig on my 4bt, it sounds like it works pretty good on the 6bts though.
