hyd steering

I need to do something with my steering setup,was thinking a 12v hyd pump plumbed to my oem steering box or char lyan valve and ram.My quastion is the pump doesnt any valving ? a dump trailer pump thats power up and gravity down would work fine right?

This is what i use Haldex 12 Volt DC Power Unit, No Valving, Model 1261009 | Hydraulic Power Units | Northern Tool + Equipment works great. Couple ideas that i found that make it work better for myself, was give the pump its own seperate battery. I also used a 2.5 x 8 cylinder, the tires seemed to want to overpower the ram with a 2'' bore. I have heard of guys running this pump into the oem steering box and said it worked great.

was the very same pump I was looking at,just wasnt sure about the valving part,thought it would work but figgerd I better double check

PSC Power steering components is where i got everything besides pump. I got the pump from northern too.

Why not just setup a hydraulic assist?
