intercooler questions

currrently adding a 12 valve to a 78 ford, i have a plastic end late model 7.3 intercooler.Went to pick it up from getting cleaned up and tested and asked how it tested he says that intercooler is great up to 20 psi they can fly apart after that. How much boost can this cooler handle?? i will be using a small single charger 62-74-14 industrial injection i think its set at 40 or 45 psi. Thanks for your help dont want to use it if it won't hold.

it should hit 40lbs. I dont know what that cooler can handle, but 20lbs seems a little light.

Thanks seems like it would hold with little charger but have to find out.Don't need to suck in plastic pieces in new motor.I think all start lookin for a all aluminum cooler so i have room to grow
