Intercooler Swap?

Out of curiosity, why would one want or need to do this? Have an aftermarket 3rd Gen already?

From my research the larger 3rd gen intercoolers have a greater flow capacity, better cooling
 
Can it be done? Sure! will you benefit? Probably not enough to justify it. Aftermarket ones however would be bolt in and flow/cool better... But harder to find on Craigslist or the scrapyard.....

I hadn’t seen any extravagant earth shattering 2013+ 2500/3500 aftermarket bolt in intercoolers being offered yet.

the surface area of some of the 3rd gens and earlier 4th gens might be an interesting comparison. not sure how that would stack up in there with dual radiators

Depending on what's done to the truck, I don't think none of them will be "EARTH SHATTERING"!
