Anyone ever messed with the keypads on the door(factory installed)?

Mine has taken a poo on me and i am telling you what, it is quite possibly the most annoying thing in the world. Do you know what its like having to actually carry keys around?!?! :( I haven't carried keys in years.

Apparently, it seems my "3/4" digit is the culprit.
 
they are pretty simple 99% of the time they get water in them and they corrode 20 minutes to replace kinda pricy about 90 bucks, A new on will last another 10 years. good scan tool should be able to watch the door switch. other common issue the wires break in the door post every time the door opens it flexes the wires
 
Ford still carries them. I just bought one for my Ex. Had 2 keys quit working.

I have other issues though I am still trying to figure out.
 
make sure the pad is factory installed should be almost flush with the door add on pads were almost 1/4" thick
