So the other day I was helping a friend out by towing a trailer full of river rock across town. My truck isn't exactly a tow rig but I decided to give it a try. Got down the road about two miles and noticed a diesel fuel smell so I pulled over and looked under the truck and saw fuel leaking on the ground. Opened the hood and the top Dmax CP3 was leaking. Couldn't see exactly where it was coming from so I tried to identify the area and shut her down. Took a wrench to all the lines and they all seemed tight enough. So I remember hearing of plugs falling out of CP3s so I thought I was in for a bad day :bang
Decided to start it up again and to my pleasant surprise there was no leaking fuel :woohoo:
I couldn't believe it so I gave it some skinny pedal and slowly brought the rpms up to as high as 2500 with zero fuel leaking. I was ecstatic and felt like I just won at the casinos :rockwoot:
So it left me scratching my head and wondering WTF!
Anyone have anything similar happen or know if CP3s can puke out fuel then correct it self?
I'm concerned it might happen again and next time it won't stop on its own.
