engine is a stock 215 horse 96, 280k miles. on cold start i have alot of unnacceptable levels of blue smoke.
timing set at 14 deg
thought it was injectors, swapped with known good, same thing. Ultra sonic cleaned my old ones and put it back in.
grid heater works
not using oil
initial thought are valve stem seals.
There is zero smoke once warmed up.
some guy at work swore up and down his 2 trucks smoke blue like crazy untill he switched to regular rotella. Said it took approx 100 miles then all smoking on cold start stopped. im at 75, still smoking blue pretty darn good...
Interesting note..I tried initially cleaning the injectors with diesel purge in a closed loop, bypassing any diesel from the tank...it did not smoke (when cold). I then switched back to the diesel tank after a few minutes and...blue smoke galore....
