I'm getting ready to build my 12v for my fummins once I get the block back from the machine shop. I'm figuring I'll be around the 600hp range with a 351/475 set of twins. What's the normal opinion on bolt replacement on the main caps? Is there a theory or written rule on when to replace the bolts? I don't feel I need studs on the mains but I'm not sure if I need to replace them with new. I don't know how many torques they have them. I will be doing new roof bolts and head studs. Thoughts or opinions?

I don't think they're TTY and since they're soaked in oil their whole lives, there's no risk of corrosion.

My opinion is you're good to run the old ones, but I personally would replace them since you're already in there and have easy access.
