Ok guys the drag truck got put on hold and they brought me an F-350 drw chasis with a 7.3 powerstroke to build into a mini Peterbilt to tow the enclosed trailer and drag truck to the races with. The cab and hood is not here yet but the wiring harness is here along with other miscellaneous components. Pics will be soon to come. There is no transmission with the truck but I have a zf5 off of a 7.3 idi that I would like to run on it. My question is there anything i have to change to get the trans to work on the powerstoke that had an auto trans before?
 
curious if your truck will use full size pete cab and hood? or a modified one?.. I'm collecting some parts for similar build using a F550 chassis and a 1950 jeep pickup cab and custom hood /radiator.

Not a whole lot. still waiting on the cab and hood to get here. Kinda got distracted with another project that includes an 07 6.7 thats getting Tuned, Deleted, AD150, 5" TBE, and s366 on 2nd gen manifold. Soon as we get it done I will be going to get everything to start putting it together.
 
Got the cab and hood delivered yesterday. Today will be fun.

Sat the cab and hood on the frame today to check fitment.

Sorry just have to throw that in there. Little bit opinionated!

This is a cool build ass build otherwise. The cab looks miniature too. Is it or is it really a Peterbilt cab? Also the hood is that a custom miniature hood?

I know a guy that did the same exact thing with a Kenworth W900a on an old dodge chassis with a VE motor in it. Turned out great. I'd love to see someone do one with tandems that functioned, and actually could put power to the second tandem.
 
Its all custom fiberglass hood and cab that's mini. Nothing wrong with a 7.3 but I wish it was a 12v.
 
Well it is a cool ass build. Where did you find such a cab and hood?

The guy I know with one used an original A model cab with a modified hood. It kinda looks a little goofy because the cab is so big compared to the hood. Yours looks much better because it's all proportionate.

Are you going to put some sort of Western hauler bed on it?

That looks absolutely awesome...

I'd love to see a RoadRanger go in there to keep the rig side legit. I've always been a fan of the RTOO9513's myself.
