So I have been waiting for winter time to do some more shop work. I was bound and determined to hook up my floor heat. So I can see what it would do with just this hot water heater. The water heater ran for 2 Days and 60*F is all it would do In and 52*F out. it was not overly warm but it defiantly knocked the Chill out of the shop outside temp was in the mid 40s .

Here's a panel Im just about done building for my buddies shop. I think his shop is 60x100. This is about as cheap as you can do it without sacrificing efficency etc. I have the same setup in my shop, it may run 2 maybe 3x max a day for 10 minute intervals when it's in the 40s.

It's a modulating 15-120k btu on demand heater with 3 stages of burners. I can't quite remember how I sized it. Is your whole shop floor pexxed?

So the original plan was to build stairs however finding a set already built was way cheaper and way faster. Only 1 problem My landing for my stair case had to be eliminated to move the staircase in more to Not block the door.

After seeing your pex layout I'm surprised with how well it heated the floor with minimal piping. The benefit you have over me is you are farther south so luckily not as cold. I keep the air temp about 60degF and it is very comfortable to work in. What is the long term plan to supply hot water to the floor?

That looks great! I am heating a 40x48x16 shop with (6) approx. 320' loops of 5/8" pex on about 12" centers. It holds temp wo issue. This is my first winter using the floor heat and I am very impressed with it. Having warm feet all day is something I'm not used to!

Yea that varies in Region In Tennessee we generally don't get that cold of winters and our water lines are only 2ft deep

The guys who built my house used the same setup and it works great. like you said I was surprise as well. It was more for taking the chill out than actually heating but I was surprised with the results. Plan is a Rinnai High efficacy Boiler with Hot water heater combination setup.

So the beige colored shelfs came from the local hospital. they were too for the Mezzanine height so the were cut close to half and the extra worked out great for storage behind the railing to allow for more free space to organize parts. finished getting the OSB up for railing cover and started hanging my signs

Got the mezzanine door mounted and the last sheet of OSB. The Ship I have worked on for over the past decade had some old navigational light they were going to throw away. So I got a red and green one but they were 24volts European bulbs so I converted them to 120v LED.
