Need some help

i have a negihbor that has a 90 some model powerstroke..
he is having some major blow by on the driver side of the engine...
the truck smokes really bad when you first start it up then after it runs for about 30 min some smoke goes away but no all of it.. it is bulish white smoke<i was thinking oil>..but i was wandering what i needed to check for first..

honestly to me it sounds like a turbo issue is it really white w/ a little blue thats what happened to me but for sure idk also u might have oil coming up causing it to smoke like u said

i asked around at work today ( i work for cat) and a guy that used to work for ford said that he should just find a new engine.. it wouldnt be worth the trouble rebuilding it,, it would just do the same thing later down the road..he said that model was bad for rings giving out and the oil coming back up into the turbos and eating the turbos up...
