Well I gambled a bit and didn't head to TS due to the weather predictions. Not sure If I lost or not but we had a BLAST on Sunday and the NHRA Southern Nationals in Commerce GA. The weather was Perfect!!!
About 73-75* and with a slight Breeze all day... Clouds and Sun.. Just Perfect!!

Sam and Tyler drove down late Sat. night from TS to meet up with us camping in the Garmon Bus...

Took some pics and vids... I'll post the pics first and then I'll be uploading a few vids...No point in loading all of them but I got all the finals...

Plus we happened to just walk up on Bill Elliott in the pits...Jeff actually recognized him and used to live down the street from him as a kid... He was very nice..Got a short Vid of Amy taking a pic with him and getting him to autograph her shirt...

No NHRA folks here?
Figured you guys would follow this fast stuff...

It had been since 1994 or 95 that I'd been to one..
It was Awesome

Looks like you had fun Swole, I was hangin out with Force during a private testing day a few weekends back in Houston.

When NHRA was here in Vegas a couple months back, I was invited to compete in the Coke challenge. Basically they brought (8) identical Ford Fusions to the track Thursday night and let competing casino's warehouse staff race. I don't work at a warehouse but one of my buddies works closely with Coke here in Vegas so I was a "fill-in" driver. Larry Dixon came out to give us a few pointers and tips, of the 24 drivers, only 2-3 of us recognized him at first. He's actually a pretty nice guy in person as he stayed for the whole 1.5 hour event where we raced down the track at blistering 17.1 to 17.7 second passes. I asked Larry a few questions about launching a top fuel car, if there was a delay timer, etc and he was surprising forthcoming with info and really cool. Unfortunately, I lost quickly as I always ended up with certain blue late 2011 model in the right lane than ran 3-6 tenths slower than all of the other cars. I was amazed to see the ET and MPH difference between these nearly identical vehicles, all with 1000 to 7000 miles on the odometer. I treed one competitor by .467 seconds and still lost.

All said and done, NHRA is a blast! Watching two top fuel vehicles make 300+ MPH passes is incredible!

That sounds like a blast!
Sorry you got the Slow ride though.. lol

Ditto on the two Top Fuel Rails... My brain can hardly fathem (sp?) that kinda of power and how they hook that....

I work for NHRA and I enjoy it but I stopped working National events about 5 years ago. All I do now is the Div 2 Lucas Oil events. They work you about 15-18 hours a day and then only give you 30 minutes for lunch. The last time I went to watch and that was the most enjoyable time, being able to putt around on my cart. But now I can't do that. The one big thing I hated was all the traffic coming and going each day. I do miss the fuel cars, but really miss the Pro Stock.

Swole, I still have those wheels that you saw at Garmons during the dyno day back in Nov
