I have a V10 truck with a NV4500 and I'm getting ready to drop in my diesel. I have a guy interested in my bell housing for the cummins. The bell housings look identical except the trans to bellhousing bosses. The cummins bosses look bigger?... I have looked at forty searches on this topic, and everybody says it fits. I know it fits, but does it hold power?

It's just an optical delusion. :D
They bear the same casting numbers, so don't sweat it, it'll work fine.

Oh, now I see what you're talking about.
Actually, that's an early vs late deal, not a V-10 vs diesel one.
I don't recall when the change was made, but it won't affect a thing.

Look at it this way:
Other than a wreck, can you think of ANYONE who has ever BROKEN an NV4500 bellhousing?
Can't say that I have ever heard of it, but anything is possible.

I havent, thanks for the info. Out of all my friends with diesels mine is about to make the most HP, and we havent heard of them breaking, but i wanted to be sure. :thankyou2:

We have been sled pulling on a v10 bell housing for 3 years. It is a 96 bell housing and nv4500, if that matters.
