Do I need that oil cooler on passenger side of motor ? The previous owner removed it .

This is the first time I noticed that cummins had a oil cooler on the passenger side of the block.

So I'm wondering the pros and cons of running one and not running one

Oil cooler is sandwiched by the oil filter housing and the block towards the front of engine, and yes you need it. Maybe you're referring to the trans heat exchanger which is toward the middle/back of the block below the exhaust manifold, in which a 6 speed truck wouldn't have anyway, only automatics had it.

I’ve NEVER heard of anyone running without it or WANTING to run without it.

I don’t understand.
