Pretty much I need to take it off to weld a bung in for a oil return. Now I never took one off one of these trucks from what ive seen pretty much I unbolt the motor mounts and lift the motor up a solid 3-4 in and it should pull out right? I know its a pretty newibish question but I just want to make sure I don't miss anything or if Thiers is any tips to make this easier. Thanks jon

For my oil drain I dropped the pan without removing motor mount bolts.

I then used a large jic bulkhead fitting with home build gaskets from regular old gasket material and huge fender washers.
With the pan dropped its tricky but you can reach in with wrenches to tighten it all up.

Doesn't leak and haven't come loose in 15000k

Just another option

If you wanna pull the pan all the way out, you could unbolt the oil pump suction tube to give you more room and not have to lift the motor so far and work around the tube.

4x4 your going to have to loosen the cab mounts and motor mounts and jack the engine and cab up. Drop the oil pump pick-up tube in the pan.
(To remove the oil pan all the way out.)
