Oil Pressure

I'm a new duramax owner my and this has been a concern of mine to everyone I talk to say its not very high when warm.
 
Phil, I'm not an LB7 guy at all, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night...some people who are smarter than me say that on a normal healthy LB7 (see no injector issues) they report around 25ish at idle when warm. Some have said even a little higher, but no body was consistent in what temperature constitutes "warm". Hope this helps a little.

My LLY idles even at a lower oil PSI than that. (and all this is assuming "accuracy" of stock gauges, and that is not an exact science)
 
I just bought a new Duramax Engine For the GMC i'm workin on, I see wht it reads when I get it fired up
 
Mine with oil hot , 20 psi in gear .

Always been the same all 3 motors .

OK cool. I started mine this morning and it was up around 50, then when I go to work I checked it and it was down around the 25-30 mark.

Thanks guys, I thought I was loosing oil pressure.
 
oem specs for an LB7
Oil Pressure - Minimum- Hot - at idle
98 KPa
14 psi

Oil Pressure - Minimum - 1800 RPM
294 KPa
42 psi

Oil Relief Valve Opening Pressure
441 KPa
64 psi

Piston Cooling Jet Valve Opening Pressure
196 KPa
