I have a friend with an old monster box and I can't find my manual. It seems to not have any gear engagement at all. No forward or reverse gears. Sounds to me the direct drive drum is gone.
Sounds like it. I stripped mine out about a month ago. Was pulling about 17k in 3rd, then BAM, no more forward or reverse. I wound up with a new converter and direct drive drum under warranty. :rockwoot:
Forward drum cracked and stripped out the splines where it rides on the intermediate shaft, best to replace it with a new drum from ford or if your making big power buy a billet drum.
