This Saturday October 31st, at 9:30 AM MST (11:30 AM Eastern Time) we are doing a Dyno Death Match between Power Driven's Triple Turbo Frankenstein Cummins and Maurice's Compound Turbo 6.7 Common Rail. Event will be live-streamed on Power Driven's website, click on "Power Driven Entertainment" after going to our homepage at: http://www.powerdrivendiesel.com
This is as good as it gets for a street truck shootout: both of these trucks are street legal and regularly/primarily driven on the street with occasional track use, 12 valve dinosaur power vs 24 valve common rail power, mechanical injection mafia vs. tickled by wire mafia; AFC LIVE vs. EFI LIVE; Triples vs Twins, old technology vs new technology, Borg/Garrett vs. Garrett/Borg, ZZ-Fab vs. B&B Tooling, 5x025 injectors vs 7x015 injectors, Water/Air vs Air/Air, 5.9 vs 6.7, R&R vs Carillo Rods.

There is also a contest associated with this dyno event, we are giving away two cases of Power Driven Diesel Engine Oil or Power Torque ATF to the closest Horsepower guess on either truck. So post up your guesses here, and be sure to do your smack talking on the live chat portion of the Live Stream.

Dyno Specs:

Mustang MD1750 - dual eddy brake dyno with massive 50" rollers and 3,000 lbs of inertia and 1,200 HP worth of EDDY Brake as needed to coax big boost and load up the trucks.
Dyno location is 5710' above sea level, on-board weather station is currently calling for an 18% correction factor, we will manually over-ride the correction factor before the first truck runs and set it to exactly 1/2 of weather station correction so roughly 9% correction factor will be added by the dyno software for altitude and weather conditions.

Truck Specs:

Frankenstein
12v 5.9 Cummins w/billet R&R rods, Fully Ported and Polished head w/ZZ-Fab Plenum, Northeast Diesel Street 13mm 215 cam Injection Pump, Power Driven 5x025 Injectors, Triple Turbo setup with (2) Borg S475's feeding a Garrett GTX (76mm) 4202, with triple water/air charge air coolers producing roughly 100 psi boost. Custom tuning via AFC LIVE/Todd@PowerDriven
PDD 1200+ HP rated Transmission w/stand alone VB
Fluids: PDD Full Synthetic 15w-40, Power Torque ATF

Maurice
24v 6.7 Cummins w/billet Carillo rods, Fully Ported and Polished head w/B&B Tooling Side Draft, twin CP3 (Ind Inj 120% stroker under stock dmax) 350% over 143* 7x015" injectors, 5.9 ECM swap, Compound Turbo setup with (1) Garrett (106mm) GT5541r/1.40 feeding a Borg S480 (80mm 6-blade billet)/1.32 with a single air/air AFE charge air cooler producing roughly 100 psi boost. Custom tuning via EFI LIVE/Gordon@Innovative 5k capable.
PDD 1200+ HP rated Transmission w/stand alone VB
Fluids: PDD Full Synthetic 15w-40, Power Torque ATF

Post up your Corrected HP guesses, both trucks are capable of over 1000 rwhp, that's only hint I can give.

Frankenstein =1392
Kronk=1415 (contingent on his tuning ha)

Good luck guys

A death match should consist of them spraying it till there's parts on the floor no? :hehe:

Frankenstein - 1323
CR - 1276

You bring up a valid point.....

We were thinking loser gets a kick in the junk or something....

FYI both trucks are currently fuel-only.

On that note I'd like to start a go fund me account :hehe:

Kronk might need a new block

I'll bet we could spray both trucks to 2k Corrected HP for 1 second long dyno spikes if we let the weather station add the full 18% correction factor....

Then there would be no need for a new block....

Booyah. Death match is on and that feed is sweet! I'll go big, 1530 for the CR, 1520 dyno power.

If anyone wants to shoot over a tune for Maurice's truck, we will give him another shot, his truck was only making 55 psi max even if we loaded the $&!# out of it with the eddy brake.

Send tune via email to will@powerdrivendiesel.com, it sounds like Robert Ivy is already working up a tune for this 5.9 injector, 5.9 07' ECM. You've got 30 minutes.... starting now.

Todd is up next on the dyno, this is your 5 minute warning. We will run at 11:55 AM Mountain time.
