What ki d of power levels do you think it take to win 2.5 class back east or what kind of pwer are you guys getting out of your 2.5 turbos?

Depends where you're talking back east. Big difference between New England, and ohio/ PA area.

I've been hearing between 8-900

This is a vague question and you shall receive vague answers. A lot depends on the wordage of rules as well as the techs. When shade tree joe lets farmer jack pull 2.5 with his s475 you're going to get skewed results. I see this happen frequently here in Virginia. Not necessarily s475's but Danville 68's in Duramax's specifically. Frequently 2.5 is just stock-ish trucks due to entry numbers. A lot of times it's more down to chassis set up and driver skill than brute power.

I am building for the 800 range, fully ported and polished head, including milled off intake with aftermarket shelf, 13mm pump, etc. if you want to be competitive in 2.5 in any real pulls you're going to be building along the lines of a 2.6 truck minus the ridiculous pricetag of the charger.

Some areas won't let you run a 13 mm pump in 2.5 class...not for sure they would be tell as long as the AFC stayed in contact....my buddy has one and he dynoed at 897 with a 13 mm pump

I was talking.more in the general term anything east.of colorado mine seems to.run good.out here with our first.pull being last week I won by 7ft and that was with my.old turbo.making 496. With a different turbo now weve.made 606. Our rules here allow ag pumps, twins, and duals but no water to air. My ending goal was 700 but looks like.I need to aim a little higher

Its NSPA rules, we use PPL rules but allow twins in all classes. The big turbo cannot be clipped though must be smooth bore. Singles can be clipped.

ATS rules for NSPA anyway..... At least they have gotten closer to ATS over the last couple years.

2.5 is almost entirely true bore over here. I have not seen limitations on pumps other than no A-Pumps. I'm not sure I've seen any limitations on P-Pumps thus far.

See in New England area you can win with 500-600hp and a good setup. Were a little behind. Were restricted to a small frame charger ie: s300

You're going to want a turbo designed to run 2.5 with an appropriate MWE. In a class where, even though I just recommended a specific use turbo, so limited by air the biggest differences in power are due to internal mods (low and top end work) as well as chassis setup.
