Is it worth doin? Father in law asked me about it, I don't have a clue.

not really, unless your bored and looking for a small Saturday project involving the truck.

If you want to try it just take the stock one off and run a drill through it, as that's all they do.

So what is the purpose of the bigger fitting as far as the advantage of it?

If i remember correctly its like 1/8 drill bit for the drivers side. Did mine when the motor was out. Can't really say if it made a difference or not.

On an LLY and later it helps when power is above 500HP, below that, not needed. You only need to drill the hole out to 1/16" to get all your going to get but some believe bigger is better

Once you get the fitting out it takes 2 seconds to drill it but getting to it is the hard part, the time it takes to loosen the belt move the a/c pump and take the fuel line off it doesnt seem worth it. I wish i would have done a back to back dyno run to see if it made any difference if i ever find a stock one maybe ill try it on a rainy day.

Waste of time unless you are racing. My 2002 never had these drilled until we built the new 7.1.
