man pump slip? shutdown cylinoid, out of fuel, air shut off. i dont know. something changed in a hurry..

Actually the trans broke and the motor reved to over 6k. When we pulled the valve cover everything looked fine so we give it a shot of ether and started to crank it over and not one single rocker arm moved so im assuming it snapped the scheid UGL cam in half. We havent got it tore down yet but it does still turn over fine.

sorry to hear that.. hope you get it fixed soon.. thats why i named my truck "always somthin"

I called mine "cummin apart" cause I thought it was funny and I didn't figure anybody else had it. It's not quite as funny now though.

well let us know what you find. sorry for our knowing our names acctually fit all to well

Happened to me about a month ago, was it the 232/252 cam? Cam in mine broke right behind the first journal, but mine was under full load when it broke.

I' had plans to do the gear changes to get in direct in the trans and use the power it was making. I guess I didn't get it done fast enough huh. We pay to play so it does kinda suck but that's the gamble I took so no point in being upset about it. We have a 12v with a drop in cam that I'm gonna throw in to finish the year out with. It's got a ported head and valve train just a stock bottom end though. We will put my pump and turbo on it

My actual numbers on the cam are 234/254-105 Brad told me I need the billet front cover cause it is machined with q bearing to support the front of the cam also and to hold it square

Same thing happened to me back in June. My cam snapped right behind the front journal. Put a Hamilton back in it .

When you guys that had this happen, did you tear it completely down to check rods and such or just pull the head to check valves and install a new cam?

I havent done anything to mine but it will be pulled all the way down. Im not worried about bent rods but rather a broke/cracked piston from the impact

Yea I wouldn't worry about the rods, would worry about the valves, and pushrods.

We are gonna try to get the motor out this weekend and pull the head to look at the valves. I figure it's time to get rid of the stock pistons.

Pulled the head, pistons were fine but the ole' stock push rods were bent (good weak point) with a few bent valves.

im gonna say that something went wrong with the cam, especially since you said you had a spike in rpm's when the tranny let go. especially running a 13mm i would say you snapped the cam somewhere and its not opening the valves like it should to let air in to get it started. let us know what ya find.
