Long story short, I bought a machine with bad ring and pinion gears. The cheapest I can find replacement parts is $3800, the ring gear is a whopping 7" across so its not like its gears out of a monster earthmover. Anybody know of any shops with a CNC machine that could reverse engineer the gears I have and make new ones? Even if it costs 2k it would be almost 1/2 what the dealer wants.

thanks, Sean

and once they cnc it and heat treat it and temper it etc it might be 1/4 as good as stock and last maybe 1/4 as long. and when it craters and only takes out some bearings if you are lucky....then 38 will look cheep. Just my opinion

Unless the company is in the job of building drive boxes, gears and that type of stuff I wouldn't bother with it, sure the dealer sucks but like I said, unless your talking to a company that has built them before with success why try and reinvent the wheel when its your dollars spent...
