S400 rebuild question

Not my first rebuild but first time coming across this. Turbine had 2 metal oil seals on it and kit only came with one. I don't remember seeing 2 on any of the other ones I've done. Just need a special rebuild kit or what's going on here? Thanks

What turbine did the ones you did have? This is the large 96 wheel. I swear the 83/74 turbine in my 68 had just the 1 seal

My 83/74 I just did only had one sealing ring but my rebuild kit came with two. Thought that was odd.
 
Bearing center section is different for the 96 turbine. Journals and thrust should be the same though.

Correct. There are a couple different bearing housings used in the S400 platform.

But T4 S400's using the 83 or 87 turbine wheel should have one piston ring. T6 S400's with the 96 turbine wheel have two.
 
Finally got the new rings and they are the wrong size. FML. Hope I don't have to wait another 3 weeks
