Exploded t-case, replaced with a DHD out of an 02 6spd truck with 31spline output... no more VSS on t-case, but the rear in my truck is a disk brake 80 out of an 01 stick truck.... anyway to make the factory dash speedo read the tone ring signal off the rear dif and make it function?

Going with 1480 ujoints now.... thats why i want bigger output shaft

Theres gotta be a way to decode the tone-ring pulse from the Dana 80 and make it work with the 96 dash

If I remember correctly Dakota Digital had an adapter of some sort.

ya last springi had the same problem when i swap my np241dld to a np271. dakota digital works fine with the abs sensor in the rear diff!!

I have a np273 in my ‘94 Dodge behind a nv4500 and I’ve been trying to figure out a way to get my speedo to work. I have read about the Dakota digital sgi-5 but most people are talking about using it with a 24 valve rearend. Has it been used with a ‘94 rearend with the two wire abs sensor on top of the differential?

mine is a 1994 with a 1994 dana 80 rear end.. works perfectly!

Yup. That’s what I did to keep the speedometer functional with the NP271 swap. The nice part is that I can calibrate the speedometer with the SGI-5

let me rephrase the question

i have the dakota box wired up in the cab. n test mode it correctly moves the speedo needle.

what im having the issue with is picking up the signal off the rear dif.

i got a new sensor and pig tail.. wires in the pig tail are white with purple tracer, and red with orange trace.

the box has a spot for sensor in, sensor 5v and sensor ground... taking a stab in the dark i would say that purp/white is the tone signal and that red/orange is 5v?

the reason im asking is because my factory plug for the abs is just dangling out of the wiring harness at the rear of the fuel tank. i dont have the section that goes from the sensor on the dif up to the frame harness. so i need to run wire from the sensor to the dakota box in the cab... which i tried, but it wouldnt pickup a signal... so im assuming it needs 5v to power it.. or is it grounded?
