Steering upgrade

So my 99 24v has sloppy steering, No big surprise there.. My question is will the 09 and up steering upgrade work on a 98-00. I have read were people have done it on a 01-02 and it bolts right up but can't seem to find anything on the 98-00 .. any help would be appreciated :thankyou2:

90% sure you need to drill out the knuckles to fit the larger bolts on a 99. My 01 was direct fit

The OEM Heavy Duty "Y" to "T" conversion (about $330)

and a 3rd gen adjustable track bar works really well.

The knuckles on the ends of the tie rod are big enough that the 2002 OEM alloy rims rub them at full lock.

Here's a complete pic of what you get for that part number:

That part number is for an '02. I did not pay attention to all of the years it covered. Even if the earlier years were a slightly different part number, it is still a good solution.

Check real quick on line. Part numbers change between '99 and '00. I did not try to find the Heavy Duty Steering for the earlier years. Does your rig have the "T" or "Y" steering configuration now?

A 99 will have the "Y" style, the 09+ setup will work on an 01 with alloy rims if you cut the stud down some.
