sorry, your truck doesn't sound that good if the cat/DPF are still in place.

I'm assuming all you have to do is reconnect any sensors to your straight pipe (or leave them hanging in the air! LOL!)

as long as the computer isn't seeing high backpressure, it'll never go into re-gen. there's a guy around here w/ a straight piped 6.4.

There is a guy on the Ford forum that straight piped his 6.4 and it went into regen and would not come out forever. I haven't kept up on the thread, so I don't know if he ever got it fixed or not, but was in regen for at least a week.
 
It will always go into regen. It will regen passively and if it doesn't get what it wants it will go into active regen. Then it will stay there since it doesn't see what it needs from the sensors.
