Well I usually don't do much for build threads as I never get pics to work but think I got it figured out.

This is my build I've wanted for years and finally am making it happen. I'm building a 10 second Street/drag truck that will be a regular cab short box 2wd. I started with a 94 regular cab long box 2wd 5spd 12v from Mark Nixon that was clean. I just started a few weeks ago and figure this will be a long process. As of today I've got the frame shortened, box fitted, cab gutted, driveline out and have it down to the frame and power washed today.

The motor was bad and why I started with this. Has a almost new DD Valair clutch, upgraded hydros. Motor has I think 60lb spring, full cut DVs, 7x.011 injectors, rack plug, not sure on gsk buy had a stock hx35. Somewhere along the way it droped a valve or something and #2 is trashed. The cylinder somehow looks like it might just clean up with a hone.

I plan to keep this updated along the way. Have not yet decided on 12v or CR swap. I will be building a 4x4 47re I have will full manual VB and either replace the tail to make it 2wd or run the stubby conversion from suncoast.

It will be painted someday but somehow I found a silver southern short box close by and just got a silver sport front today.

For now front will be stock with some adjustable shocks, rear I have it down to 2 leafs might go to one. I might try a set of cal-tracs but might try some kind of 4 link setup or just try traction bars. I'm figuring how things go and once I run fast enough I will probably back half it eventually with a 9" to lose weight, better brakes, better suspension.

Haven't got real far lately. Frame took forever to degrees. Decided I'm going to build a rotisserie like this make blasting and painting easier. Also going to do a little more lightening on the frame before blasting.

Wow that's a pretty spectacular failure for a 12 valve. Looks like it's gonna be a nice truck though. What are you gonna use for frame paint?

Just good industrial implement paint with hardener as it will never see winter let alone rain. Not going to waste money on something like POR15. Cousin just did his frame with that and I'm less than impressed.

Got my rotisserie made and works perfect. Spins full 360° with one hand and can lock in any position.

Damn, now I'm gonna have to find a new name for the truck I just shortened lol

Good to see another nice 2wd build, looking forward to following the progress!

Been busy so haven't got much done. Got it painted and picked up a he351 and s475 for $600. Should be enough to get me rolling and fast enough I'll need a cage after that.

Looking good man. If I were you I would go ahead and put a cage in it while it's under construction. Way easier than doing it after its all done and painted.

Not really at this point. There is going to be the bare minimum in this truck and can have it down to frame in a day. I'm not doing the cage until I see how it hooks because I will probably back half it once I get more power. At that time I'll have a cage installed to go with the back half. If I do it now I'll have to tear the cage out and redo it later. I'm having a shop do the cage.
