It's ugly but functional and hopefully in the long run it will save me a few Benjamins! LOL

It still has the fuel pump in the tank and it works, diesels did not have a tank pump from factory! It has the larger "gas" exhaust!

Meh. I like its newer brother the Corrado much better styling wise.

Don't tell the old men at vwdiesel.net that you have a *gasp* fuel pump!*dramatic swoon, falling to the floor type deal*

Don't you know? The VE is made to pull its own fuel, waste a battery when priming, generally suck (pun) because it was made to be like that. And if you do use a pusher pump, 0-2psi is all you want!

LOL

Well the first voyage was successful! 15 miles of mountain driving and the water temp gauge only hit 215! Foot planted on the wood for 10 miles of interstate, the thing hit 80 and was easy to keep there. Its still has the original "gasser" 5spd trans with taller than "diesel" gears! Yes it smokes gray/black a wee little! LOL

One look and it makes you go "uuuuuggh". LOL So ugly, so cheap.

Its race, id drive it.

The wing? It's rubber! :hehe:
I'd drive the wheels off that thing.

I plan too! It need some work though, oil pressure drops to 5psi @ idle when its warm, cruising its up above 40psi. I got it cheap, knowing it needs attention. Maybe some cough Lu cough cas will help it along awhile longer! LOL

doesnt look like it would be too hard to make that thing look like a delorean

1.6's are near indestructible, i have also run mine foot to floor for extended periods, just watch out for it getting hot, that is what they seem to do a lot of the time.

The guy I got the car from told me it has low oil pressure, runs warm and burns oil. It does the first two alright and the third one exceptionally well! LOL

LOL I put a bit of 80W90 gear oil in the crank case and the oil consumption nearly stopped!

You need a sticker that says " representing Deutschland "
