T-case Question

I'm trying to find out if a 271 electric shift case can be converted to manual. I picked up a rolling chassis that has the manual shift lever but all that cases I track down are electric shift. I've read some stuff about people just swapping out the whole case. Then I see some stuff saying the electric shifts are actually a 273. So I'm confused now.

Can anyone share any info on this and help clear this up? I don't want to buy an electric shift and then find out I can't convert it.

Go check out quad4x4.com. they have just about every 271/273 part

That's a good parts site but I'm still not sure if a 273 electric case can be converted to manual.

Yes it will work. You have to drill and tap he top of the case for the 4x4 indicator switch. Make sure you use everything out of the manual case and put it in the auto case. Will work just fine.
